Summer Fun Fridays!

One Fulton Square and Queens Crossing at Downtown Flushing are kicking off the summer season together by the “Summer Fun Fridays” from June to August. The event series include music concert, outdoor movie, croquis night, jewelry workshop and floral arrangement workshop held at both locations.

One Fulton Square is a vibrant mixed-use project by F&T Group with a total floor area of approximately 330,000 square feet. The plaza of One Fulton Square provides a public space for local events and gatherings, bringing the community together through concerts, family activities, and cultural festivals, in addition to the exciting array of restaurants, bars and shops.

Queens Crossing debuted its new curated food court in 2017. Occupying approximately 10,000 square feet in the culture-rich corner of New York City, The Food Court at Queens Crossing is offering nine individual food concepts serving everything from Taiwanese fried chicken and bubble tea, Korean tofu pot, Sichuan mini hotpot, Pilipino chicken adobo to Japanese taiyaki ice cream dessert.

The “Summer Fun Fridays” begins on Friday, June 21st at the plaza of One Fulton Square with Make Music New York concert and the outdoor movie. Make Music New York is a live, free musical event that takes place across all five boroughs of New York City on the first day of summer. This year will be the 13th year this event has taken place. Every year, there are over 1,000 performances taking place in New York, all of them providing great opportunities to enjoy free music while celebrating the start of summer. Starting at 6:30 PM on June 21st, the audience will get the chance to experience different music genres including R&B, jazz, soul and the unique mix of pop and dance beats by singer Lizzie Blaquez, Ali Berke, Allie Glassman, Althea and Rose Rodriguez.

The screening of “Incredibles 2” will begin right after the performance. This event will be open to the public with free admission. During the movie, the audience will have the opportunity to sample snacks from One Fulton Square restaurants, including Korean fried chicken from the Coop, spicy skewers from Szechwan Absolute, artisan ice cream from Spot Dessert Bar and many more. There will be another outdoor screening of “Avengers: Infinity War” at One Fulton Square on August 9th.

In the Food Hall at Queens Crossing, there will also be indoor events starting from Friday, July 12th.  Participants will create their very own croquis drawing with music and drinks during the “Croquis Night” instructed by artist Jason Lee who has been featured on GQ, Daze and W Magazine for his recent “Supreme Walk” project. In the “DIY Jewelry Workshop” (July 26th), participants will learn to make their own personalized pendant necklace or pet collar in sterling silver with metalsmithing techniques guided by jewelry designer Jing Lin. Moreover, in the “Floral Arrangement Workshop” (August 23rd), anyone interested in the art of botanical design will get the hands-on experience of making trendy Korean-style bouquet with detailed demonstration by florist Teresa Choi. Complimentary cocktails will be served at all events. Tickets are required, please visit Queens Crossing’s Facebook page or call 718-713-0202 for more information.
